A mayor in a Laguna town is facing an ethics investigation after an alleged video of him having sex with female minors surfaced on the Internet, a report on “24 Oras” said Wednesday.
GMA News’ Oscar Oida reported that the Sangguniang Bayan of Cavinti, Laguna is getting into the bottom of the allegation against Mayor Milbert Oliveros.
Copies of the video and the Sangguniang Bayan resolution were sent to GMA News by an anonymous source.
Sought for comment, Oliveros said the sex video issue is just being used by his political rivals to derail his re-election bid.
Siguro nagalit sila sa akin,” he said.
The mayor also appealed to his detractors to spare innocent people.
“Ako na lang sirain nyo kasi ako naman ang gusto nyong pabagsakin bilang mayor,” he said.
Oliveros said he already filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation against those responsible for spreading the video.
The Commission on Human Rights, meanwhile, expressed concern over the involvement of minors in sexual activity.
If the allegations were true, Oliveros may face charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection For a Child Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. —Virgil Lopez/JST, GMA News
